Come see @risingrhythmsf dance film screening of Steel Caged Framed Faces at Dia de Los Muertos at Humming Bird Farm this Sunday at 545pm. Thank you to @terelachanga And @urbancampesinx for allowing us to film at our home hummingbird farm! Featuring Bay Area Youth Talent from Rising Rhythm Dance Company. This work was created in 2020, during the pandemic, in response to the devastating events happening at the border. Rising Rhythm steps out and steps up in their first entry into online performance! The hopeful and determined voices and visions of the youth company members were compelling as they explored outcries against the jailing of immigrant communities. Standing behind the mesh doors of their homes and slanted gates of abandoned parking lots and train yards, the audience was asked to lean in and truly gain understanding of the deep pain experienced by this very focused attack on a certain sect of humanity. -Andrea Spearman, A.
