  • Rising Rhythm is a Dance Company that provides artists opportunity to teach dance  to empower their lives both  personally and professionally.

Our company vision is to empower people in dance and art to live more abundant lives within a career in the performing arts.

Our immediate goal is to establish a physical presence and grow our income so that we are able to employ artists with a sustainable wage, grow our clientele and purchase a permanent studio for our company.

Once we have established our San Francisco Location, We aim to expand to locations in the peninsula where we can increase staff and the volume of our clients and income and eventually build a management  team to take over the day to day operations of the company.

Our target market includes people of color interested in pursuing dance professionally, local bay area individuals looking to be educated in all aspects of being financially abundant in performing arts, and the everyday person looking to learn how to use dance to empower themselves and others. Clients may feel more inclined to come to our studio because of our welcoming atmosphere, mastery of teachers, multi use studios for dance, music, visual art, media and textiles, and our unique 2 story artist hub.

We will successfully deliver by offering discount packages for memberships, work exchange opportunities, youth internships and professional job opportunities and business education through our dance business training course for youth and adults to prepare them for a career in the performing arts.

Rising Rhythm’s CEO, Jessica Maria Recinos, has a wealth of experience in the Dance Industry for over 12 years and has experienced first hand the benefits of providing artists with financial education so that they are able to negotiate their contracts, set their boundaries and ultimately express themselves freely on and off the stage knowing they are living abundant lives. Recinos hand selects her master Instructors that offer a wealth of dance knowledge for Rising Rhythm students.

Empowering People in Dance & Art to Live More Abundant Lives

Meet Jessica Maria Recinos, CEO

When I dance, I am elevated to an enhanced, raw version of myself. I am untouchable. unbothered. determined. My life has purpose as I twirl around the world pumping to my own beat. This is why I teach. to give this same motivation, drive and confidence to people around the world who may struggle to see themselves as worthy of love and acceptance. My passion is to help people live abundant lives through dance. Women in Business are often overlooked or deemed “bossy” and “ sensitive” when making executive decisions in the workplace. This is the exact reason that I work to create a space where people of all identities can thrive within a career in the performing arts. Dance will ALWAYS be there for you! Now it is time for you to show up for yourself! Let’s dance!

  • Founder

  • Jessica Recinos, a proud Latina dancer, choreographer and company director from San Francisco’s Excelsior neighborhood, has developed her own multidisciplinary dance style and aesthetic drawing from street dance forms, such as Vogue, Hip Hop and Afro-Latin dance forms. An experienced arts educator who has taught at LINES, SF School of the Arts and in the community dance program at SF Ballet, Jessica is gifted at working with, listening to, coaching, and sharing stories from young people. Through Rising Rhythm, the company she founded and directs, Jessica works with both professional and young artists to build the next generation of dance entrepreneurs and changemakers!

Their biggest inspirations are women in the community who have shown such courage and resiliency when it comes to fighting against injustice and societal norms. At Rising Rhythm, they promote body positivity & acceptance and mental/physical health, promoting healthy relationships and collaborations amongst adults while in a creative space with youth, dance business education through active mentorship and understanding the cultural relevance of a genre of dance and how it relates to fighting against injustice.

RR choreographs pieces “building upon the legends that came before, responding to community issues and stories, and laying the foundation for the future generation of cultural ambassadors we want to cultivate.” Recinos’s vision for her work is also about the importance of celebrating culture and finding joy.

Ashley Marie Smiley, Rising Rhythm collaborator, explains, “It is often quite easy to fall into a rhythm of dwelling on the past and negative moments in the present creating a path of future planning out of fear, but Rising Rhythm intends to flip that, look back in celebration, acknowledge the moment of growth we are in and framing a future out of the joy we deserve.”

Their Goals is to open up the first dance studio in excelsior district owned by a woman who grew up in the neighborhood and transform it into a Dance and Music hub where artists can teach, create, produce professional work and learn how to grow their own business to live more abundant lives with a career in the arts.
